Swing-In, Tilt-In Windows
The signature European window.
One handle, two motions: tilt the top inward for fresh air, or swing the whole sash fully inward to open and clean from inside — the design the industry calls a tilt-turn window. Multi-point locking, airtight seals, and double or triple pane.

How it opens
One handle. Three positions.
Handle down — locked
Locking points around the whole sash pull it tight against the seals. Nothing rattles, nothing leaks.
Handle up — tilt
The top tips in a few inches for fresh air. Safe to leave open in the rain, while you're out, or with kids around.
Handle sideways — swing
The whole sash swings into the room like a door. Clean the outside glass from inside — no ladder.

Features
Why homeowners choose it
- Swing fully in AND tilt — both from a single handle
- Multi-point locking for security and an airtight seal
- Double or triple pane (U-factor as low as 0.19)
- Cleans from inside — no ladders, no outswing
- Any size, 55 colors and woodgrain finishes
The frame
What's inside the frame
Cut one of our windows in half and this is what you'd see. The frame is hollow on purpose — the walls split the inside into separate air pockets (chambers). Each pocket slows down heat moving through, the same way layers of clothing keep you warm.
- 1
70 mm deep frame
About 2¾ inches of frame between inside and outside.
- 2
5 insulating chambers
Separate air pockets that slow heat loss through the frame itself.
- 3
Room for steel reinforcement
Large center chambers take a steel insert, so big sashes stay straight and square.
- 4
2 rubber seals
Two continuous gaskets all the way around the sash keep out drafts, dust and rain.
- 5
Glass up to 40 mm thick
Enough room for double or triple-pane glass.
- 6
Precision-welded corners
Corners are heat-welded, not screwed together, so there are no joints to open up over time.
OutsideInsideGlassSteel in the sashSteel in the frameSteel inside the frame
Inside the PVC, a steel channel runs along the frame and the sash. The PVC chambers insulate; the steel keeps the frame stiff and straight, so a big sash closes tight and square.

What goes in our standard windows
aluplast part 229023: a 35 × 27 mm U-channel with a 1.5 mm wall (about 1⅜″ × 1¹⁄₁₆″). Our factory orders list it for both the frame and the sash of standard IDEAL 4000 tilt-turn windows.
Bigger units and doors get heavier steel — 2 mm walls or closed box sections (for example 30 × 32 × 2 mm on entrance doors). Your quote lists the exact parts for your windows.

Hardware
German tilt-turn hardware
Every window runs on Roto NX hardware from Germany — the hinges, the locking bar hidden in the sash, and the mushroom-head locking pins that grab the frame when you turn the handle down.
- Locking points around the whole sash, not just at the handle
- Visible hinges, or fully concealed hinges for a cleaner look
- Hinge covers in 13 finishes, from white and silver to brass and black
- Handles in white, bronze, silver, anthracite, old gold and black
- Push-button and key-locking handles available
- Extra tilt arm on sashes wider than about 59″ for a smooth, even tilt
Colors
55 frame colors and finishes
White is standard. Every other color is a laminated finish bonded to the frame at the factory, so there's nothing to paint.

Make it yours
Grilles
Colonial or modern grid patterns set between the panes — nothing to dust — in white, wood tones or dark finishes to match the frame.
Renovation frames
Replace windows without ripping out the old frame. The new frame fits over it and a trim profile covers the old one — less demolition, less patching and painting.
Screens
Framed or pleated screens that mount outside, so the window still swings in freely.
Fresh-air vents
Small vents in the frame that bring in fresh air with the window shut — some open and close by themselves with the humidity.
Roller shutters
Exterior roll-down shutters for privacy, security and blocking summer sun.
Insulated sills
Interior and exterior sills, including insulated versions that stop cold from creeping in under the window.
Tilt-turn window FAQ
What is a tilt-turn window?
It's one window that opens two ways from a single handle. Turn the handle up and the top of the sash tilts in a few inches for secure airflow. Turn it sideways and the whole sash swings into the room like a door, so you can clean both sides from inside.
What's the U-factor and SHGC?
Triple pane: U-factor 0.19, SHGC 0.27. Double pane: U-factor 0.27, SHGC 0.38. Triple pane with sun-control tint: U-factor 0.22, SHGC 0.17. Lower numbers mean less heat lost in winter and less sun heat let in during summer.
Double or triple pane — which should I get?
Triple pane keeps the most heat in and is quieter. Double pane costs less and still performs well in milder climates. If your main problem is summer sun, ask about the tinted glass — it blocks far more solar heat.
Do they come with screens?
Yes, screens are available. Because the window opens inward, the screen sits on the outside and stays out of your way when you open it.
Can you replace a window without tearing out the old frame?
Often, yes. A renovation frame fits over the existing frame and covers it with a trim profile, so there's less demolition and less patching and painting afterwards. Send us photos and we'll tell you if your openings qualify.
Do you install?
In the Springfield, Missouri area we install. Everywhere else we build your windows to order and ship them to you, and your contractor or an independent local installer puts them in.
